An oddity here is that the tide goes out a <em>long<\/em> way, and there are three islands (one big enough to have houses) that you can walk out to at low tide. Lots of people do. Of course there are plenty of tide pools, and I had in my mind an image similar to this one of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beautiful-landscape.com\/Print-of-the-month-39.html\" title=\"reflections in Death Valley\">refelctions in Death Valley<\/a>. Too much wind (and cloud) meant there weren&#8217;t any reflections, however, and my favorite image was instead a wide angle shot processed for a slightly dreamy look:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/philarmitage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/west_kirby600.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/philarmitage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/west_kirby600.jpg\" alt=\"west_kirby600\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/philarmitage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/west_kirby600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/philarmitage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/west_kirby600-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/philarmitage.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/west_kirby600-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the Mann Island development on the Liverpool waterfront continues to provide amusement.
